Triple digits. Humidity. Daily rainstorms. Insane drivers on Airport Blvd. Carpe Diem coffee -- It's so good to be back in Mobile!
We are settling into our new home and our new routine fairly quickly and easily, and we are celebrating the nearness of family members and friends that we've missed so much! This has been an unbelievable couple of weeks, and even though we are missing our family and friends in Chattanooga, we are so grateful to be right where we are.
We've loved so much about where we are - including our new house! Sarah Claire is loving having a little more space to explore, and we've loved having a little more space to spread out. We are so thankful for the home that God provided for us at just the right time! As we settle into this one, I think there is something a little bittersweet about making the end of our time in our Haywood Avenue home official. We close on Tuesday (provided that everything goes as planned) and I am a little bit sad to know that someone else will be using all of those rooms for things other than baby-chasing and 2:00 a.m. feedings, and I can't imagine anyone else's pictures on the walls. It was time to move on, though, and begin making all sorts of new memories in our new home! I'm pretty sure that one of the memories that will be made very soon will involve a certain little girl taking her first steps; she is so close! I just keep making sure that the video camera is right where I can get to it quickly. Hopefully it will be in arm's reach when Sarah Claire decides she wants to walk!
One of the most exciting parts of setting up our new home is getting a room ready for Luke. I'm still getting used to the idea of having a room totally free of pink, but I am so excited to welcome this little boy into the world and into our home! He is already so loved and SO active!
Settling in will be an ongoing process for a while, but we are enjoying it. I think these things are supposed to take time - especially when chasing a one-year-old is involved! Please continue to pray for us as we finalize everything on our house in Chattanooga and as we make Mobile "home." We are so thankful for our family in friends in Chattanooga and Mobile, and we know that no matter where we live, we are going to miss being with quite a few people. We are so blessed, though, to have a support system that stretches across 2 (well, really 3) states! Thank y'all for all of your love and prayers!
