The Mini Adventures of Sarah Claire

A couple of weeks ago, we left for a much needed vacation.  The timing was perfect; we really needed a family get-away!  So on June 10, we loaded up our car, and along with Christopher's parents and one of his brothers, we hit the road; we were Tybee Island bound!  The time we spent there was unbelievably fun.  We played in the water (Sarah Claire LOVED it!), we ate amazing seafood and we all relaxed - some of us with books in hand, others with fishing poles, but one way or another, every one of us really got to enjoy a break from our normally fast-paced routine.

Sarah Claire loved putting her toes in the sand and in the water!

Breakfast and coffee on the deck was one of the best parts of the trip.  Seeing Sarah Claire enjoy it along with us was wonderful.  I'd say she was having a good morning, wouldn't you?

Sarah Claire was all smiles this trip.  I think she loves the beach as much as I do!

I was afraid that Sarah Claire would be afraid of the waves, but she loved them!

This is one of my favorite pictures of her.

When you play hard, you sleep hard!

Christopher's parents even kept Sarah Claire while we went on a dinner date in Savannah.  It was so nice to have that time together, and the restaurant we chose was amazing!  I loved everything about this half of our trip.

After a few days at Tybee, we packed up and headed to Cabin Bluff, a place that is a little hard to describe but all too easy to love!  It was unbelievable.  Almost all of Christopher's mom's family was there with us, and it was so good to spend that time with them!  Sarah Claire loved all of the attention, and we loved getting to watch her interact with people she hadn't seen in a while.  She did so well.

While we were there, Sarah Claire went on her first boat ride, we got to see wild horses on Cumberland Island and we were able to bike ride, swim and play a few good rounds of bocce ball.  It was so much fun.

While we were at Cabin Bluff, I was pretty sure I was feeling new baby move a little bit, and now that we are back, I'm sure that I was.  I love this part of pregnancy, and I am so excited to start to feel the little kicks that will soon follow these flutters!

I'm so relieved to know that Sarah Claire is a good traveler, even when it means being off of her routine for more than a week.  We have many vacation adventures in our future, although we don't have many more with only one baby in tow!
