Short and Sweet

It's been a few weeks since I've had a chance to blog, but I think that my lack of blogging is sort of an "update" on it's own.  Sarah Claire is crawling everywhere, and between chasing her, feeding her and trying to get a nap or two out of her, there has been very little time for blogging!  I think I'll look back at the gap between posts and know exactly what I must have been doing: being a mom to an almost-eight-month-old.

Sarah Claire's newest tricks are to say "da-da," "ma-ma" and "ba-ba."  We have no idea who or what "ba-ba" might be, but we just go with it.  It sure isn't short for "bottle" since she has always refused to have one! She is also showing her ever-growing personality by turning red and crying when we won't let her chew on things that don't belong in her mouth.  I think there is slight chance that she will have a stubborn streak in her.  She has also been known to blow raspberries in strangers faces when they speak to her.  I think she's just street smart and knows better than to talk to strangers.  She saves her sweetest smiles for the people she loves, and she knows how to melt just about anybody's heart.  I never believed parents when they said that their love for their children grows daily.  Now I do.  The more I see her grow into her personality and the more I see evidence of her individuality, the more I love her.  She's amazing.  I know I'm biased, but I think she is the greatest 8 month old in the world.

Blogs might be short and sweet for a while, but I think it's just characteristic of the phase we are in.  I still want to keep a record of development and moments that matter, so I know that I'll find time for an occasional post.  I can't believe how fast time is flying and how quickly Sarah Claire is growing up.  I wonder how many times I'll think or type that very sentence over the course of her lifetime?

Probably a million.

One last thing... please pray for us.  Our life is so full of blessings and challenges, and we appreciate prayers as we learn to totally trust the promise of Ephesians 3:20!
