So This Is The New Year...

Sometimes this feels like Brave New World.  2011 just sounds so unbelievably futuristic.  Then again, being married with a baby still sounds incredibly futuristic to me, but here I am, more than a decade into the twenty first century, with a ring on my left hand and baby on my hip.  Who would have ever thought that the future would arrive so soon?  

I'm determined to make sustainable changes this year.  I won't call them resolutions, just decisions. I've decided to be intentional in every area of my life- in my marriage, in motherhood, in spending time with family, in meal planning, in financial responsibility and in good health.  There probably won't be measurable outcomes in all of these areas, but I simply want to be more action centered.  I always have good intentions, and I think through each area of my life carefully, but when it comes to putting my thoughts and intentions to action, I've really failed.  Hindsight, though, is only meant to create change, not guilt, so I'm moving forward.  Hopefully there will be quality time spent, books read, trips taken, meals cooked, dollars saved and regrets eliminated by the time 2012 rolls around.
