Oh, Joy!

I'm getting really good at blogging backwards! I seem to always have to retrace my steps, so-to-speak.  I guess there are more important things in life than blogging in chronological order! That said, it was a very Merry Christmas at the Persinger household.

This Christmas was Sarah Claire's first Christmas.  I can't express the joy of celebrating this season with my own child!  She was oblivious to most of the preparation; she slept soundly in her carrier as we shopped for her gifts, and she couldn't have cared less about the peppermint bark we made, but the tree- oh, she loved the tree!  Showing her the lights became our go-to method of soothing her when she would get upset.  She would even fall asleep watching the lights and the ornaments.

She let me dress her life an elf on a daily basis, which I took full advantage of! She had this little Santa hat made her like she belonged in the North Pole.  It was one of my favorite things she's ever worn!

Christmas Eve was so much fun for us.  I have always loved stockings.  So much, in fact, that I would go as far as saying that they are my favorite part of the "gift" part of Christmas, so stuffing a stocking for my little girl was one of the highlights of the Christmas season.  Her stocking was full of her favorite paci's, baby spoons (she's using them now for bananas!), leggings, and a few other fun things, and our stockings were labeled with ornaments that I painted with a dear friend who has a baby that is Sarah Claire's age.  The babies got to come along too, and they even helped us make a few gifts. (see below!) It was quite a fun baby date, and it was a great way to personalize our stockings!

See the little ornaments we made? I loved them!

Sarah Claire's little feet. This was her Christmas present to her Daddy.

Christmas morning was so much fun.  We were so happy that Sarah Claire was interested in the presents! I didn't think she would care too much since she is so young, but she had so much fun with the wrapping paper!

It was such an incredible day, and while I was really sad not to wake up with my brothers and sisters on Christmas morning, I felt like I was getting to experience all of the excitement we used to when we were little- just from a different perspective.  I am already excited for next year- and everything that happens between now and then!
